Welcome, indeed ...

sandyAs a long-time fan of Georgette Heyer, it comes as no surprise that my first novel, The Rainbow Gypsy, was set during the Regency period. A historical romance with a spy-thriller subplot, the novel was based on a scene I kept daydreaming, one that actually didn't make it into the book.

I love writing historical fiction, and love the research. Most of my interests and hobbies have roots in research. For example, I've created a number of gardens over the years; all have contained old roses, herbs and perennials, each selected for a legend or story associated with them. Every time I saw my rosemary, I thought of the legend that the plant's flowers had once been white but turned blue when the Virgin Mary lay her cloack atop a rosemary bush. The Research section is filled with similar stories as well as links and references to my favorite research sites.
